Current Students: Davis College is offering a unique opportunity for taking courses that will enhance your ministry and enrich your life. Standard tuition rates apply to these courses with financial aid being available because the courses count as part of your second semester course load. Final projects for these courses are due later in the semester.
The first class begins at 10:00 AM on Monday, January 9.
Tuesday – Thursday classes are from 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM.
Friday – 8:30 AM to lunch time.

| RELG 3322 A Christian Perspective on Islam (3) Dr. Bruce Jones (Gen Ed Elective) |
The course will contain a broad semi-comprehensive view of some of the main ideas and issues of Islam, both in the past and in the present, as seen from the preofssor's Christian perspective. This course will study Islam in seven categories (or sections), such as biographically, sociologically, theologically, apologetically, historically, currently and personally.
About the Instructor:
Dr. Jones has had almost fifty years of ministry experience, including Executive Pastor at Moody Memorial Church in Chicago, and is now active in retirement, has taught at Davis College before, and has two radio programs and a seminar he offers churches on Islam

| THEO 4411 Apologetics (3) Mr. Paul Anobile (Bible/Theo Elective) |
This course introduces the student to variosu worldviews (or truth claims) and shows the inadequacies of these views as well as the truth of Theism. It will then demonstrate the truth of the Christian faith as revealed in the Bible (true Christianity).
About the Instructor: Mr. Anobile is a graduate of Mid-America Baptist Seminary and the College of New Rochelle where he majored in the humanities. He has lectured on Christian Ethics, Church History, Comparative Religious Tradition and Islam. He has a wealth of pastoral experience as well as practical experience in Christiain apologetics. You will enjoy his thoroughness of preparation and depth of explanation. he knows the world in which we live.

| PHIL 4022 Ethics (3) Dr. Douglas A. Blanc (Gen Ed or Fine Arts Elective) |
The student will study and develop Christian responses to ethical problems of society. Accounts of how the Christian moral conscience has been brought to bear on western society are analyzed. An attempt is made to define the social responsibility of the church in a world marked by continuing need and much self-interest.
About the Instructor: Dr. Blanc is married (31 years) with 6 children and 1 grandchild. He has served pastorates for more than 20 years and co-founded Laborers Together in 1992 as a cross-cultural eastern European mission. Dr. Blanc is adjunct professor of Comparative Religions and Ethics at Fulton-Montgomery Community College (Johnstown, NY) and serves as the global Academic Director for Independent Gospel Missions (Rochester, NY). He is Vice-President of Fundacja Ichthys, a Poland-based publishing house providing Christian resources and engaging in evangelistic endeavors in Poland and Moldova.

| EDUC 3211 Methods in Education (3) Dr. JoAnna Oster (required for 4+1) (Gen Ed or Prof Elective) |
Methods in Education is designed to guide students in learning and using techniques for devising educational, instruction, goal setting, objectives, best practices in teaching, assessment, planning and outcomes. Much attention is given to students researching effective and efficient ways of teadching, practicing with the discovered strategies, and using the tactics with a diversity of learners. Special emphasis is placed on the integration of instructional technology throughout the course for supporting the teaching and learning process, the classroom as a community of learners, and the teaching of technology skills to all learners.
About the Instructor: Dr. Oster served as the Development Director for Dade Christian School, The Master's Academy, and the FACE Foundation for over six years and has been in education for over 14 years. Dr. Oster's education titles include teacher, university professor, intern principal, FACCS presenter, and Development Director. Her recent preofessional experiences include univeristy level teaching at Trinity International University, Davis College and Liberty University. She earned her Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and Public Speaking from Palm Beach Atlantic University and has a One-Year Bible Certificate from Davis College. Her continued studies brought her to a Master's Degree in Educational Leadership from Florida Atlantic University. She completed her Doctorate in Educational Leadership at Liberty University. She is married to her best friend, Scott and has two beautiful girls: Ella & Olivia. Her inspiration is seeing her students grow on their educational journey for the glory of God! | THEO 3311 How to Manage Conflict Biblically (3) Mr. Gerald Mounce (Bible/Theo or Professional Elective) |
One constant of life is conflict, on multiple levels. The primary goal of this course is for students to understand, and communicate well, how the power of the Gospel transforms relationships when people are in conflict. This goal will be accomplished by students knowing the biblical concepts regarding the nature of conflict and the impact of the Gospel on relationships. Also, the students will learn how to recognize potential conflicts and how to manage them biblically through practicaly applying these concepts to their own lives, families and in a wide range of life situations.
About the Instructor: Mr. Mounce has been the Associational Missionary in Northeast PA since 1997. Previously he served in Canada for ten years under the North American Mission Board (NAMB) of the Southern Baptist Convention (SBC) and four years in West Africa with their International Mission Board. He has served SBC churches as Youth, Music, Associate Pastor, Pastor, Church Planter and Missionary since September, 1970. He has a B.A. in Religion from Dallas Baptist University and a M.Div. from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. He is also a Certified Conciliator with the Institute of Christian Conciliation, a division of Peacemaker Ministries. He is presently in transition to become a Church Planting Catalyst with NAMB in January, 2012. He and his wife Mary have three married children.
