A Note from Dr. Blanc

“At the Heart of Service”
As we close the month of April, my heart is full of gratitude for our faithful alumni whose lives continue to demonstrate the truth of Scripture and the power of a transformed life. To those who have walked our halls, served in our classrooms, and carried our mission into churches and communities near and far, thank you for embodying the words of Paul: “Let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up” (Galatians 6:9).
Your stories inspire us, and your ongoing support through prayer and gifts of any size opens doors for students answering God’s call to ministry. As we move forward, let us remember our Lord’s command: “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them and teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you” (Matthew 28:19–20).
May Davis College be known not only for excellence in biblical studies but also for diligence in making disciples, equipping the next generation to think biblically, live with gospel-centered conviction, and serve with Spirit-filled courage.
If the Lord stirs your heart, would you consider a gift of any size to help support these faithful students as they serve? Your generosity strengthens their hands and extends the legacy of truth entrusted to us. Every gift, no matter the size, helps remove barriers to biblical education and equips the next generation. Donations can be made securely online at Davis College.

New York City Trip

This month was full of fun and service. Dr. Blanc recently took some of our Davis students to New York City to serve at the Bowery Mission. They helped provide meals for individuals experiencing homelessness throughout the city.
Some of the students also served in the church service through worship, and one student had the opportunity to speak during a service. It was a meaningful experience for these students and a wonderful time of ministry.

“My name is Emma, and I am currently a junior at Davis College studying Christian counseling. Both of my older siblings completed degrees at Davis College, so I followed in their footsteps and began my undergraduate education here to help solidify my theological views and deepen my understanding of our Creator.
Throughout my time at Davis College, God has been teaching me that perfection should not be my top priority. I have learned to live in order to love, rather than simply to succeed. Consequently, what I am learning through Davis College impacts more than just my future career aspirations. The classes and guidance I have received have shaped my understanding of who God is and who I am because of Him.
I am thankful for the blessings I have received through my education, and I look forward to finishing my degree and applying what I have learned to serve others.”

Staff Testimonial – Tyson Wahl – Kenya Report

I was asked to travel to Mombasa, Kenya, to teach at a Baptist Bible Fellowship International seminary. I had previously created a class on the Prison Epistles, and our missionary, who was establishing this seminary, requested a one-week module for the students.
I had 46 students attending class, meeting in a dirt-floor, tin-roofed church in the heart of Mombasa. I came to realize that although Kenya speaks English, it is not American English. Despite some initial challenges, the class engaged well with both the material and my sense of humor.
Despite the lectures, quizzes, and humidity, the class did exceptionally well. As the class concluded, many of the pastors were eager to bring the Prison Epistles material back to their churches. Written materials will be copied and distributed, and I have already created video lectures for them to use. I am currently working on getting these resources to them so they can continue teaching, as some churches have access to televisions.
I also had the privilege of preaching in multiple churches. In one instance, I had the opportunity to lead a young man to the Lord. I was also able to encourage a group of pastors in the city whose primary concern was how to disciple their congregations. I shared discipleship materials from our church’s website, which they can download and print for free. They were eager for these resources, and I was humbled to provide them.
This seminary is very new, and I was only the second instructor to teach there. I am grateful for the opportunity to support this growing ministry. If the Lord permits, I hope to return to teach additional classes.
CCI Spotlight – Seamus Reilly

I studied biblical counseling as my primary focus while applying what I learned to daily life on campus. While I always knew the Bible was our source of help, I was continually challenged in my understanding of Scripture’s sufficiency for counseling.
After graduating from Davis in 2023, I moved to Paraguay to serve on the mission field for two years. One of the most striking realizations was that biblical counseling was not widely known and was often seen as just one of many sources of help rather than the source of true hope.
In Paraguay, I enjoyed engaging in conversations and asking deeper questions about reliance on psychology versus biblical truth. Many people were not accustomed to having their beliefs challenged, but these discussions often led to meaningful reflection. Certain sins were sometimes viewed as necessities or refuges rather than areas to surrender in pursuit of righteousness.
Through these experiences, I was continually reminded of my own need to rely on Scripture as the tool, the Spirit as the means, and Christ as the ultimate goal. I am always learning, and I want to continue growing because, without the Word of God as my foundation for change, everything else would be in vain.
It is a joy to know Christ and behold Him as the source of true transformation. I remain grateful for the conversations and classes at Davis that have led me to a deeper confidence in God’s Word for counseling the soul.
Please pray for the 12 new students who have joined the Center of Discipleship program. This program offers a Bible Institute–like experience, combining classroom learning, camp counseling, and consistent exposure to God’s Word. Pray that they would come to know and proclaim the goodness of God.

I graduated from Davis in 2024 with a BRE in pastoral studies and exegesis. I chose this path because I wanted to learn how to discover and defend the truth—and, admittedly, to use words like hermeneutics, subjectivism, and moral relativism (which is technically two words, but I digress).
At Davis, I not only grew academically but also found a place to grow spiritually. I developed humility during those formative years, learning to submit myself to God. I am thankful for the love and grace shown to me by both the faculty and fellow students.
Today, my wife and I serve our local church through worship and altar ministry, and I work in construction to provide for our growing family. Each day, I draw not only on the knowledge I gained at Davis but also on the character I developed to shepherd my family and serve the Lord faithfully.
Concentration Highlight – Pastoral Studies

The Pastoral Studies concentration prepares qualified students for leadership and pastoral oversight in the local church. An emphasis on biblical and theological study, along with a focus on biblically balanced ministry, equips students to shepherd the flock and care for its spiritual needs.
Student Ministry

My ministry as a Davis student involves serving as a biblical counseling intern through our BCI internship. This includes working alongside other interns and counselors to serve students from Word of Life Bible Institute, Davis College, and others seeking counseling.
My studies at Davis College have prepared me for this ministry through the biblical counseling concentration I am pursuing. I have grown in my understanding of both the theology and methodology of biblical counseling and what it means to serve faithfully as a Christian.
What I have learned through both my studies and ministry has deeply impacted me. It has given me the opportunity to apply classroom learning directly to real-life situations—both in the lives of others and in my own.

Final School Days and Summer Ministry

As we enter the month of May, we approach the end of the academic year. Our students have worked diligently, and they are excited to enjoy the fruit of their labor. Some will return for their junior year, while others will walk the stage in August, and we are grateful for both.
Over the summer, our students will serve in ministry across the country. Please continue to pray for them as they step into this next season of service.
