July 2025

A Note from Dr. Blanc

As I write this in mid-July, reports indicate that over 100 young people have come to Christ at camps in New York, where many of our students are serving. That number will continue to grow. Please pray for our students. The camp season can be an exciting time for ministry, but it can also be physically demanding. Pray for strength and good health for the remaining weeks of camp. Additionally, some of our students and recent alumni are participating in mission trips. Please pray for their safety and that the gospel will find fertile ground to take root. It’s worth noting Jesus’ observation in Matthew 9:37-38, “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; therefore, pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest.” We are grateful for the laborers currently serving, but we are praying for others to join us! Who will prepare them when they arrive? We believe that God has raised Davis College for this purpose—to stand with the local church in preparing workers who are competent in biblical truth and diligent in making disciples. Our staff has worked hard this summer to ensure that our students receive the best possible training from the most qualified instructors available. This means professors who are also committed to Christ and have a heart for the harvest! Your generous gift enables us to train laborers who faithfully serve in the harvest.

Would you consider making a generous donation this month to support our scholarship fund? Your gift will help train students to become beacons of light in an increasingly dark world. Please click the giving link below—and thank you in advance for your support.”

Staff Feature – Haley Cason

“After completing my two years at the Word of Life Bible Institute, I enrolled in Davis College to finish my degree. I graduated in August 2024 with a Bachelor of Religious Education, concentrating in Christian Counseling. Just before graduating I was hired as an Admissions Recruiter for Davis College and have recently been added on to manage the social media accounts and photography for the college. My favorite part of my job is that I get the chance to interact with students and prospective students on a daily basis. It’s been a blessing for me to have the chance to encourage them and listen to what they feel the Lord is calling them to do with their life. I have seen the Lord work in me during my time on staff by revealing my strengths and weaknesses in my daily life, as well as giving me a solid place to start to grow as an adult outside of college. In return for this blessing the Lord has given me through Davis College, I get to praise Him using my creativity to make a positive impact on social media as well as the eye God gave me for photography to admire His creation. I can use my skills to tell the story of Davis College and who we are as a school and student body.”

Writer Feature – Ryan Taylor

Hello reader, my name is Ryan Taylor, and I’ve been the writer and editor of The Davis Difference for the past 10 months. Ultimately, this has been one of my favorite jobs. I thoroughly enjoy writing, and through this job, I’ve been able to do just that. More importantly, though, I’ve been encouraged by my classmates, staff members, and alumni through their experiences with Davis College and their walk with Christ.

Throughout the past year, I served as the Alumni and Donor Relations personnel, but I also served as a Resident Assistant here at Davis College. My time here at Davis College has been some of the most influential and important moments for my growth as a follower of Christ. As I walked side by side with other young men and women who strived to know God more, it encouraged me to be more eager in my walk with God. Not only that, but the staff truly cared for me and poured into me as mentors and disciplers, setting examples of Christ for me to follow. Thanks be to God, who through His grace and mercy, allowed me to study more of His Word daily.

As I graduate from Davis College in August and move on in life, my hope and prayer is that Davis College will continue to provide believers the ability to learn, grow, and apply the Truth of God in their lives. Thank you for taking your time to read The Davis Difference and I hope it proves to be an encouragement to you each month.

To God be the Glory!

The AAS degree in Bible and Theology is a 60-hour, two-year program with a 27-hour major in Bible and Theology. It is intended for students who wish to earn a Bible college degree as a foundation for upper-division study in any other field, or for those seeking an associate’s degree to complement their lay leadership in the local church. The program articulates well with the diploma and BRE degree programs for students who wish to continue their education at Davis College.
