A Note from Dr. Blanc

“Ministry Together”

I have just returned from a deeply encouraging season of ministry in Spain and Scotland, where I had the privilege of coming alongside our missionaries – listening, praying, and strengthening their hands in the work of the gospel (Acts 14:22). These were truly blessed days, marked by mutual encouragement and a renewed vision for the advance of Christ’s kingdom among the nations (Matthew 28:19-20). I am grateful to be home briefly before departing again for a preaching itinerary in Poland, trusting the Lord to continue opening doors for His Word (Colossians 4:3). Meanwhile, many of our students are faithfully engaged in summer ministry, especially in Christian camps, where they are stewarding their gifts in joyful service (1 Peter 4:10). As they labor in demanding conditions and face both physical weariness and spiritual opposition (Galatians 6:9; Ephesians 6:12), I invite you to join me in praying that they would be strengthened with power through His Spirit (Ephesians 3:16) and remain steadfast in their calling.

Finally, I encourage you to consider partnering with us through a gift to the Davis College scholarship fund, helping equip these students for a lifetime of faithful ministry, confident that your generosity abounds to your account (Philippians 4:17).

Writer Feature – Bianca Guzman

My name is Bianca Guzman, and I have had the pleasure of writing the Davis Newsletter for the 2025 – 2026 Davis school year. I am graduating this August with my bachelor’s in biblical counseling and I am so excited for what is coming next for my future and for Davis! Davis has really been such a blessing to me. I have gotten to know the staff very well and my fellow classmates, and I have had many opportunities to serve in various ways. I feel that I have been well prepared by my classes in Davis to continue with counseling and learning how to manage myself so that I will have a good testimony and wisdom to help others. It has been such a privilege to be able to write this newsletter every month and become close with the wonderful staff that works at Davis. I would not change a thing from this year. Everyone says that your Word of Life years are the best years of your life, but I think my Davis year was my favorite. This summer I will continue to serve in Word of life at the Pines as a waterfront lifeguard and in Belize as a counselor. I kindly ask for your prayers that the Lord will continue to guide me through this summer and that I will remain faithful to seek Him out.

CCI Spotlight – Daniel Javick

I am currently studying Pastoral Studies with an emphasis on Greek. I chose this study, not because I want to be a pastor but because it has so much diversity in problem solving and general knowledge. I also chose to start learning Greek, so I could start learning it for when I go for my master’s in divinity or Bible. I am currently serving at Word of Life Honduras. I help with all their media for all the events we put on for youth. I have been able to take photos, videos, and help put on events. Aside from the media, I am just a general hand for whatever else they may need.

My classes have really helped me overall by just the general Bible knowledge. I am able to take what I am learning and apply it and pour it into others that are around me. I have also been able to have good and helpful conversations with people that I would not have been able to if I hadn’t taken those classes. On top of that, if I am helping someone out and might not know the answer, I am always able to reach out to my professors and ask them for help.

I think that as I learn to teach people and study the Bible, I will be able to apply it to any teaching, preaching, or even Bible studies I may do during my time here. So, when I am out and about, and constantly learning, I can better help and serve others around me because I am learning through my classes.

If you could be praying for me as I am learning the language and to be diligent in managing my time with ministry and school. If you could also be praying for the people of Honduras to have open hearts for our ministry because it is the most important part of our ministry.

Staff Feature – Dr. Blanc

I serve as the President of Davis College, and it is a joy and responsibility I do not take lightly. In this role, I have the privilege of helping provide spiritual, academic, and administrative leadership for the college, working alongside faculty, staff, and trustees to support our shared mission. My connection to Davis College grew out of my broader calling to biblical education and ministry. Over time I came to deeply admire the college’s commitment to Scripture, Christ-centered learning, and preparing students for faithful service in the church and beyond.

One of the greatest joys of my work is seeing God at work in the lives of students. I never grow tired of watching students wrestle with truth, deepen their faith, and begin to discern how God may be calling them to serve. Those moments remind me of Paul’s words in Ephesians 2:10, we are “created in Christ Jesus for good works,” and of 1 Peter 4:10, which calls us to use our gifts in service to one another as good stewards of God’s grace. I am also continually encouraged by the opportunity to walk alongside colleagues who share a sincere love for Christ and a desire to build up the next generation of Christian leaders.

Personally, I see God working in my life every day through the people, challenges, and responsibilities He has placed before me. Leadership has a way of exposing my own weakness, but it also drives me back to the Lord for wisdom, patience, and strength. I am often reminded that “He who began a good work in you will bring it to completion” (Philippians 1:6), and that God is the One who gives both the desire and the ability to serve Him (Philippians 2:13). Serving at Davis College has deepened my gratitude for God’s faithfulness, and I want my life and leadership to reflect Colossians 3:23: “Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men.” It is a privilege to play even a small part in what God is doing here, and I pray that my service would honor Him and encourage others to follow Christ more faithfully.

Concentration Highlight – Youth Ministries

The Youth Ministry Concentration at Davis College exists to equip youth leaders by informing their minds, inspiring their hearts, and integrating their behavior, so they may guide today’s youth past a life of superficiality, to embrace the depths of genuine intimacy with God. Graduates of this concentration will be prepared to serve as youth ministry leaders in churches, camps, youth ministry organizations, and community service organizations.
