A Note from Dr. Blanc

I am in Brazil with a ministry team while writing this note. Many of our students are enjoying cross-cultural experiences this summer. I will meet David Jones, one of our cross-cultural interns serving in Brazil, later this week. David is a graduate of Word of Life Bible Institute and Davis College. Following graduation from Davis, David became a CCI with Word of Life. This is one of the benefits of the partnership formed between these schools. God is doing amazing work around the world as our two schools work together to advance the gospel to the ends of the earth. Will you consider sending a gift this month to support our current students?

Feature – Student Fusion Honduras, Suzie Petrossi

“This Student Fusion trip to Honduras was a huge blessing to my life this summer. Honduras was the last place I wanted to go, but I’m thankful that God knows best because it was the most incredible and fulfilling experience! During the training week, I had been questioning why I was even on the trip. After sharing my testimony with the girls for both the Hungary and Honduras trips, the Lord really opened the door for me to pour into the high school girls on the trip. God moved in my heart and the hearts of the students in ways I never could have imagined!

While in Honduras, we went out to two different schools and played games with them, and then the gospel was shared. After we would split into small groups with a translator and share how the gospel has personally changed our lives and the importance of believing in it. One of the schools we were at had a school shooting a few weeks prior, and it was a huge answer to prayer that we were even able to minister in that school. The teachers told us they really appreciated that the kids were laughing and having fun because the mood had been so somber since the tragedy. It was a privilege to be able to see the students on our trip be bold and share the gospel and their testimonies for the first time!

990 Bible tracts were handed out, 970 students heard the gospel, and 303 students made a decision for Christ.

The missionary team in Honduras was another highlight of the trip. They were so welcoming and kind to our group, and it was cool to hear about how they ended up there and what they do for ministry year-round. They spent a lot of time with us as we did tourist activities, and some were even translating in our small groups. Being able to build relationships and partner in ministry with people on another continent is so rewarding and a gift only from God. If you’re considering Student Fusion or know a high school student who might be interested, go for it!”
