A Note from Dr. Blanc

“I’m traveling throughout Poland this month, preaching in Warsaw, Kraków, and Gdańsk. Serving with our brothers and sisters in Christ is a blessing. This experience reminds us of the fellowship we share in the body of Christ worldwide. Christianity is in decline in Poland. Of the approximately 4,100 churches in the country, 142 are in Warsaw, where I am writing this note. The Catholic Diocese tracks demographics and notes that, although Warsaw contains the most churches, it has the lowest percentage of students enrolled in religious education classes (58%). This is partly due to the overall decline in church attendance nationwide and the rise of secularism. The demographics differ only slightly in the United States, but the trend remains the same. Unless the evangelical churches mobilize and engage with the culture, secularism will become more pronounced. The Pew Research folks project that by 2050, Christianity in the USA could dip to an all-time low of 35%.
Why are these observations important? At Davis College, we inspire and train servant leaders to be missional. This means they learn to invest their lives in kingdom-first pursuits (Matthew 6:33 and Matthew 16:24). As staff, faculty, and board of trustees, we lead by example. We do not merely espouse theory in the classroom or the boardroom. We are practitioners first—Church leaders, pastors, missionaries, evangelists, and Christian workers. We strive to live out our redemptive purpose through open doors of God’s leading and His Spirit’s enabling.

Summer Break!
The Summer is in full swing, and our students are off to various places. Davis College students have been on summer break since May 16 and will last until September 5. While seniors will be graduating on August 16 on campus, our returning students will begin classes on September 9, 2025.
The summer is full of many opportunities as Davis College students go home to work, take jobs and internships, and serve in ministry. Be praying for our students as the summer continues and as they lead where they are!

Staff Feature – Rachel Kirchberger
“While growing up, I remember hearing about Davis College because my grandparents lived near the original campus in Johnson City. In the fall of 2020, I started serving as an admissions counselor at the Pottersville campus, but a year later, I was called to serve full-time with our local church. This past fall, I returned to Davis as the Director of Admissions and have loved being back on campus with the students and staff!
My favorite part of my job is the opportunity to interact with our student workers in the office. It’s encouraging to get to know them and hear about their experiences as students themselves and how that correlates with what we are doing in our recruitment efforts.
I can see how the Lord has used Davis to remind me to depend on him as we are interacting with students, but also as I lead our team. It’s a blessing to be in this role, and I am grateful for the relationships I’ve been able to build, and the growth that I’ve experienced because of it.”

Student Life
Most of our students are back at Word of Life for Summer Camp! Many of them serve in leadership roles, actively shepherding college and high school students towards their next steps with Jesus. This is an incredible opportunity to put their classroom learning into practice. We can’t wait to see how God uses each of them!
As you think about them, please pray that God will work in and through them this summer during their ministry assignment. The next step for most of them is graduation in August! To God be the glory!
Concentration Highlight: Pastoral Studies
The Pastoral Studies Concentration prepares capable students for leadership and pastoral oversight of the local church. It emphasizes biblical and theological study, with a focus on biblically balanced ministry, equipping students to shepherd the congregation and attend to its spiritual needs.

Graduation
Graduation is coming up very soon! Our Davis College students will be graduating on Saturday, August 16, on our campus in Pottersville, New York. Our students have worked hard over the years to obtain their respective degrees. We ask you to continue keeping our students in prayer this summer as they finish up classes and move on to their next steps in life!
