A Note from Dr. Blanc

“At the Heart of Service”
As we enter March, I am especially mindful of God’s faithfulness to Davis College during this, our 125th year. It is a distinct privilege for me to serve as president of a college that has stood as a beacon of truth for more than a century – grounded in Scripture, committed to the gospel, and unwavering in its mission. Today’s student body is the living expression of that legacy; they are the ones now holding the torch of truth, carrying it forward with sincerity and conviction. Watching them invest in their studies while joyfully serving each week at snow camps reminds me of Paul’s encouragement in 1 Corinthians 15:58 to “stand firm… always abounding in the work of the Lord.” Their heart for ministry, their love for Christ, and their willingness to step into gospel conversations are a beautiful testimony to God’s ongoing work in and through them.
If the Lord stirs your heart, would you consider a gift of any size to help support these faithful students as they serve? Your generosity strengthens their hands and extends the legacy of truth entrusted to us. Every gift, no matter the size, helps remove barriers to biblical education and equips the next generation. Donations can be made securely online at Davis College.

Spring Break

After a long and successful season of serving at Snowcamp and working diligently during the first half of our spring semester, they earned a well-deserved break! During this break, some of our students will be heading to Camp of the Woods to work and fellowship with the staff there. Additionally, our students enrolled in the AVL class will get to go on a trip to Sight and Sound for more hands-on experience.

Student Feature

My name is Tim,
I came to Davis after graduating from Word of Life Bible Institute, and I’m currently working towards my Bachelor of Religious Education with a concentration in Biblical Counseling.
So far, it has been a blessing to be surrounded by Godly friends, and I’ve learned a lot since joining the Davis program. I’ve been understanding how important it is to develop spiritual disciplines and Godly habits so that I can be ready to give counsel to others in my life, both inside and outside the counseling room. I believe the time I’ve spent here will always influence how I minister to others and serve God. I’m very thankful for the opportunity to be here and to serve alongside others for God’s glory.

I serve as faculty and a professor at Davis College, where I teach Hebrew, Greek, and Systematic Theology, among other classes.
I became familiar with Davis College through my friend, Dr. Blanc. I am very thankful for him. His encouragement and confidence in me opened the door to this opportunity, and I do not take that lightly. The Lord used his friendship and leadership to connect me to a place that strongly shares a commitment to the authority of Scripture and the spiritual growth of students. I am very grateful for his Godly example and support.
I truly love training up a new generation of pastors and ministry leaders to love the Word of God and boldly proclaim the gospel. There is nothing more encouraging than seeing students grow in confidence with the Scriptures. Watching the Lord shape future leaders who will stand behind pulpits, go to the mission field, and serve local churches is a privilege I don’t take lightly.
Serving at Davis College has strengthened me both intellectually and spiritually. Teaching the Bible deepens my own convictions and reminds me of the weight and privilege of shepherding souls. I see God refining me, calling me to clarity, faithfulness, and consistency, and the responsibility to model what I teach humbles me.

CCI Spotlight – Abigail Kaminkow

I’m currently serving as a cross-cultural intern in Caldas Novas, Brazil. I’m studying intercultural ministries with Davis college.
I’m currently in a Spiritual Formations class, and this class has been so fruitful in my walk with the Lord. We have been walking through many different books that are about shaping the believer, being conformed to His image, and the Pursuit of God. Through these studies, they have helped deepen my intimacy with the Lord, which has been detrimental in my transition time becoming a missionary here.
All these things I’m learning about how to go deeper and be more intentional with the Lord, and understanding more about His heart and certain theologies, will help me continue to become the woman of God He is calling me to be. It is also giving me a better understanding of the Word of God, so when the time comes to teach and share, I will feel more prepared.
Please be praying during this transition period to adjust to the culture, learn the language, explore ministry opportunities, and build relationships with fellow missionaries and church attendees. We also have some really exciting conferences, Day Camps, and English Camps coming up!

I graduated in 1986 with a degree in Women’s Ministries, and I earned my bachelor’s in religious education again in 1999.
I am currently a substitute teacher in the public school system. Davis helped me learn how to share Christ in many different roles in my life. After many years leading our women’s ministry at our church, I stepped into a role in public education. I still have a ministry to women and other staff I come into contact with.
While traveling with the music team, I met my husband, Dr. Brent Young. Brent taught many music classes for over 20 years at Davis College. We also lived on the campus in New York for a short time. It will always be a place filled with fond memories for us and our three children. Our oldest daughter eventually attended the college and played on the soccer team.

Concentration Highlight – Organizational Leadership

The Organizational Leadership Concentration is designed to train students for leadership and managerial roles within a variety of settings, whether in the church or society at large, with a focus on Christian ministry. Graduates are uniquely prepared to lead with integrity, skill, sensitivity, and in conformity with institutional and personal values.
Student Ministry

My ministry as a Davis student was being part of the soccer team. It was my third year on the team, and it was amazing to meet new guys and encourage them throughout the season. I would say that the biggest ministry opportunity I’ve had on the team is sharing the Gospel with the other players after each game. It was incredible to see people make salvation decisions.
I believe my classes have been the most helpful in preparing me for my future ministry. Having classes with intentional professors has been incredible and has helped me learn and grow both inside and outside the classroom. It’s been great to form meaningful relationships with my professors.
I was able to apply what I have learned by encouraging my family. I’ve learned a lot from motivating the guys on my team, and it’s amazing to be able to bring that home. I’ve also had many meaningful and growing conversations with my family.
