A Note from Dr. Blanc

“Ministry Together”

As September begins, our campus is once again alive with the energy and anticipation of a new academic year. Students are returning to classrooms, chapel, residence halls, and the many daily rhythms of campus life. Online learners are joining us from communities across the country and around the world. In this, Davis College’s 127th year, we pause with gratitude for God’s sustaining faithfulness and for the generations of alumni, faculty, staff, supporters, and friends who have helped carry this mission forward.

Scripture reminds us, “The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning” (Lamentations 3:22–23a). Every new semester is a fresh expression of those mercies: new students discerning God’s call, returning students deepening their preparation, and faculty and staff investing faithfully in lives that will influence churches, families, workplaces, and communities for Christ.

As we begin this new year together, we invite you to continue partnering with Davis College through your prayers and financial support. Your generosity helps make Christ-centered, biblically grounded education possible and equips the next generation of servant leaders to live and serve faithfully wherever the Lord sends them.

President, Davis College

Get Acquainted with Davis!

Student Feature – Hailey Harris

My name is Hailey Harris and I am a senior here at Davis College. I chose Davis because during my 2 years at Word of Life, the Lord gave me a love and a passion for Biblical Counseling. I wanted to learn more with our staff here on campus and the Lord opened the door for me to pursue my degree in the Biblical Counseling Concentration. God has used Davis to grow my spiritual and personal life through my classes where I am constantly learning more about Him, and through ministry opportunities where I am able to serve Him. My favorite part about being a student here at Davis is the great community we have here. We are able to hold each other accountable, encourage one another, and do life together while we learn more about the Lord.

Staff Feature – Rachel Kirchberger

My name is Rachel and I serve as the Director of Advancement here at Davis College. For the majority of my time at Davis, I worked in the Admissions Department as an Admissions Counselor back in 2021, and the Director of Admissions from 2023–2026.

Something I love about my role in Advancement is being able to make connections with our alumni and donors through various means. In my free time, I love spending time with my husband and 2 boys, drinking coffee, gardening, and reading.

Alumni Feature – Emil Hage (’25)

After graduating from Davis College in August of 2025 and spending the next year back home in CT working and doing worship ministry at my local church, I have decided to further my education. About a month and a half ago, I moved to Gretna, VA, with a fellow Word of Life Bible Institute alumnus, Colby Hicks, and I have officially enrolled at Liberty University for the fall of 2026! I will be starting seminary at Liberty University’s School of Divinity, pursuing my Master of Divinity in Christian Ministries. As an aspiring theologian, my current career goal is to become a Faith Formation Director. This pastoral position focuses heavily on spiritual formation through counseling, training future ministry leaders, developing discipleship curriculums, managing small groups, and teaching classes on both discipleship and theology. All of which, I believe, are effective avenues for advancing the cause of Christ and discipling believers in their faith walk. The M.Div. opens many doors for that type of career and ministry work. I am beyond blessed to begin this next academic and ministry journey and see the plans God has in store!

If you would, please keep me in prayer for this next chapter of my life, as there will be many challenges that stretch my faith in incredible ways. God has given me the calling, and I will run towards it as fast as I can!

“Commit your works to the LORD, and your plans will be established.”
Proverbs 16:3 (NET).

Student Life

After a successful opening weekend, the Fall Semester is officially in full gear! Classes have begun, and students are settling into their new schedules and ministries.

We are so excited for all that is in store for this school year!

Concentration Highlight: Christian Counseling

The Christian Counseling Concentration is designed to prepare students for support ministries of local churches or para-church organizations, in either a staff or lay capacity. Graduates of this concentration will be prepared to serve as biblical counselors in Christian ministries or to pursue further study in the field of counseling.

If you are a compassionate individual who wants to make an impact on the lives of others through personal interactions, this concentration is for you.

Student Ministry – Fei Fei Yen

This past summer, I joined the Word of Life Island Camp Store as a volunteer to complete my Christian Ministries internship. A significant part of my ministry at Word of Life Island Camp was both prayer and hospitality. During Salvation
Nights, while the speaker gave the gospel invitation and counselors shared the gospel personally with campers, I devoted myself to praying for each counselor and camper. Some of these teenagers were campers I have been praying for over the past two years, and it has been a joy to see God grow them spiritually as they return each summer with new friends. As a Camp Store volunteer, my teammates and I strived to create a welcoming place where campers felt loved and counselors could find encouragement.

I also kept a notebook to record the names and prayer requests of campers and injured campers or counselors so I could pray for them each morning. Through prayer and simple acts of service, I have been able to build meaningful relationships, encourage others with Christ’s love, and witness God’s faithful work in their lives.
