Personal Information

My name is Joe Schenke and I grew up in a very devout Roman Catholic family in Chicago Illinois. I came to personal faith Christ when I was 19 years old while attending an evening service at Midwest Bible Church. Several years later I attended WORD OF LIFE Bible Institute for two years where I also met my sweet wife Connie. After working on staff for a couple of years we moved back to the Chicago area where I graduated from Trinity International University in Deerfield. Immediately following our time at Trinity we returned to WORD OF LIFE where I served as Dean of Men and then as Dean of Students and Campus Pastor for about 10 years. Realizing the need for more training in 2000 I began an MA program in Biblical Counseling at the MASTER’s College in Santa Clarita, California.

I have had the privilege of serving in counseling and pastoral ministry for over 35 years. Having now served for 25 years as the Dean of Students at Word of Life Bible Institute in New York as well as seven years ministering as the Pastor of Counseling and Family Ministries at Fellowship Bible Church in southern New Jersey outside of Philadelphia. I am currently the Director of Counseling at WORD OF LIFE. I am blessed to have been married to my wife Connie now for 36 years. We have four wonderful adult children and seven energetic grandchildren. Connie has faithfully served alongside of me and together we have had the joy of counseling many students, couples and families.
