The Davis College women’s volleyball team traveled down 81 South to Penn State Schuylkill on Wednesday and came away with a 4-1 victory over the host Nittany Lions.

In the first set the Falcons came out really slow and the Nittany Lions took full advantage as they cruised to a 25-19 win.  After that the Falcons were able to regroup and take control of the match.  “In the second and third set we got back into our rhythm and had really tight sets, but it was our attacks that won us those sets,” said Coach Alainey Banks.  After winning sets two and three to take a 2-1 advantage, the Falcons rolled in the fourth winning by a margin of 25-9.  Coach Banks credited the serving of Braedyn Mims (Calvert, MD) and the attacks of Linnea Sweeney (Cortland, NY) to lead the attack.

Mims had 4 service aces to go with 8 kills and Sweeney had a team high 13 kills on the evening.  Loryn Sanders led the Falcons with 24 assists in the match.

The tri-match scheduled for this weekend in Virginia with Christendom College and Mid-Atlantic Christian University has been canceled due to weather.  Next up is another road test at Cayuga Community College on Wednesday, 9/19 at 6:00 p.m.
