In the last home match of the season, the Davis College Falcons volleyball team took care of business in 3 sets against visiting Cayuga Community College Spartans on Tuesday night.

The Falcons, who are currently ranked number 7 in the latest USCAA National Coaches Poll, showed their balance throughout the contest with a number of great kills, digs, and blocks to overwhelm the visitors. In the first set the Falcons put home 14 kills while committing only 3 errors to take the set 25-12. The Spartans put up a fight at the start of the second set before the Falcons focused in and made another big run, winning 25-12. The third and deciding set was efficient for the Falcons as they committed only 2 errors and won by a 25-9 margin.

Davis College’s Linnea Sweeney (Cortland, NY) had a monster match with a season high 17 kills, 3 digs, 2 blocks, and 2 service aces. Loryn Sanders (Chambersburg, PA) had a season high 30 assists and Michaela McLeod (West Milford, NJ) had 6 kills, 4 service aces, and 7 digs on the evening. Kali Nolte (Port Byron, NY) led Cayuga with 4 kills and 7 digs.

Davis College improves to 8-4 on the season. They conclude the regular season this Saturday at The King’s College (NY) at 2:45 p.m. After that they will prepare for the upcoming Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Championship which will be held on November 3 at the College of New Rochelle at a time to be determined.
