Lady Falcons Basketball Team is Full of Experience and Expectations

The 2017-2018 season is underway for the Davis College Lady Falcons. After losing in the first round of the Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Championship the previous two seasons, they are poised to make a deeper run this year.

Boasting a deep bench, with several key returning players, the Lady Falcons have looked sharp in their two preseason scrimmages, against SUNY Broome and Ithaca Club. The addition of upperclassmen Lynn Torres, Braedyn Mims, and Karissa Colombo will give the Lady Falcons an edge in speed, size, and ball handling. Last year’s HVIAC Rookie of the Year Brooke Lewandowski will look to continue her dominance as a scorer and rebounder in her sophomore season. Sharp shooters Candace Winkel (sophomore) and Elizabeth Bath (senior) will team up once again to bring a deep ball threat with artistic precision. Senior mastermind Jamie Brown is ready to attack her final season with excellence to cap off an illustrious career. Returning junior Jocelyn Clark has taken steps to continue her upward trend while four year senior Kim Fassett brings a toughness and durability unrivaled. The cerebral play of senior Beth Atwood places an exclamation point on an experienced and talented roster that has the potential to go deep into the post season.

The Lady Falcons kick off the 2017-2018 season on Tuesday, November 7, at Penn State Wilkes-Barre, followed by the Quality Inn Showcase at home on Friday, Nov. 10, and Sunday, Nov. 12.
