The Davis College Lady Falcons secured their first road victory of the season on Friday against the College of St. Joseph’s – Vermont, winning 87-74.

Trailing by as many as 16 in the second quarter, Sophomore Michaela McLeod (West Milford, NJ) scored 10 first half points to help position the Lady Falcons for a strong comeback in the second half. Down 10 at halftime, Davis came surging back with a near-perfect third quarter performance, outscoring CSJ 34-6. In that third quarter, the Lady Falcons shot 66.7% from behind the arc, hitting 6 of 9 threes, and Junior, Braedyn Mims (Calvert County, MD) scored 10 points on 4-5 shooting in what would prove to be too much for the Fighting Saints of CSJ to overcome.

Freshman point guard Elizabeth Singleton (Schenectady, NY) finished strong with 10 fourth quarter points, bringing her total to 23 points, along with 8 rebounds and 8 assists. McLeod earned her third double-double of the season with 15 points and 10 boards, and Junior Candace Winkel (Ocean City, NJ) added 20 points on the night. Freshman Ali Aten (Streetsboro, OH) contributed 15 points along with 6 rebounds.

The 11th ranked Falcons (5-2) are on the road again Tuesday as they face Cayuga Community College at 5:00 p.m.
