The 2017 Davis College women’s volleyball team started off their season with a road victory at Cayuga Community College on Wednesday night.

The Falcons won the match 3 sets to 1 but it was close all night long.  In the first set the Falcons trailed early but were able to rebound and take the set with a score of 30-28.  The home team responded winning the second set 25-23.  During the third set the Falcons won a tight one, edging the home team 26-24, and then closed out the match with a 25-18 victory in the 4th set.

Sophomore Loryn Sanders led the way with 41 assists on the night as she controlled the offensive attack of the Falcons.  Newcomer, Brooke Lewandowski, debuted with 15 kills and Lynn Torres contributed 8 kills of her own on the night.

The win marked the first career victory for former Davis College volleyball standout, Alainey Banks.  Alainey, however, was unable to attend the match as she recently gave birth to her son, Rowan Eli Banks, on August 30 .  Both coach and baby are doing great!

The Lady Falcons are back in action on Thursday as they host SUNY Broome at 6:00 p.m.
