The Davis College Falcons hosted The King’s College Lions on Saturday and ran away with a 123-66 conference victory.

The win marked a record breaking performance for the Falcons as they set a program record for most points scored in a game with 123 on the day. The previous high was back on February 20, 2014 when they scored 121 points against New England Baptist College. The Falcons also poured in a program record 46 field goals while shooting 46.5% from the floor. Finishing the regular season at 18-6 with a .750 win percentage is also new milestone for the Falcons.

Saturday was also Senior Day and it was only fitting that the trio of seniors all had big games. Tim Swan (Binghamton, NY) got things started with a corner three on the first possession and fellow senior Ernestas Puzaras (Kaunas, Lithuania) kept it going with a couple triples of his own in the first half. The two players combined for 6 first half threes and their offensive efforts would help the Falcons open up a 38 point halftime lead with a 66-28. In the second half, senior Titus Geday (Toronto, Canada) got hot scoring 16 of his 18 points on numerous drives to the basket. Swan would finish with a career high 20 points on 4 made threes and grabbing 7 rebounds and Puzaras would total 5 threes and dish out 7 assists on his way to 21 points.

In all, 4 Falcons would score over 20 points, another first for the Falcons program, as Jackson Henri (Miami, FL) put in a team-high 22 points and 16 rebounds in only 17 minutes and Kelvin Tompkins (South Miami, FL) would add 21 points and 5 steals. On the day, the Falcons had season highs in both assists (28) and steals (24). For King’s, Justin Cox led the way with 25 points on 4 threes and teammate Jordan Bishop added 23 points in the loss.

The performance puts the Falcons at 5-2 in conference play and locked them in as the number 3 seed in the upcoming Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Championship this weekend. This will be the first season the Falcons have secured a playoff spot since joining the conference in the 2015-2016 season. They will take on the number 2 seed and tournament host, The College of New Rochelle, at 7:00 p.m. The two teams matched up on January 18 with New Rochelle winning a close one by the score of 92-85.
