WORD OF LIFE
It was a good week for the Davis College women’s volleyball program. After winning 3-0 on the road Tuesday, the lady Falcons followed that performance with another 3-0 shutout beating visiting Word of Life on Thursday night.
The Falcons came out strong once again scoring the first 7 points of the match and never trailed in any of the sets. It was a balanced effort for the team as 9 different players posted kills on the night. Brooke Lewandowski led the team with 6 kills, Lynn Torres 4, and Linnea Sweeney and Erica Stockwell both contributed 3 kills. Sophomore Loryn Sanders handed out 15 assists and now leads the Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (HVIAC) in assists per set.
Davis College improves to 3-1 on the season and visiting Word of Life is 0-1. Next up for the Falcons is rematch at home against Cayuga Community College on Tuesday, 9/19, at 6:00 p.m. The Falcons beat Cayuga on the road 3-1 on September 6.
