Part Time Pastor

Calvary Baptist Church, Mifflinburg, PA

Calvary Baptist Church, 332 East Chestnut Street, Mifflinburg, PA is seeking a part time pastor to lead our congregation, drive outreach initiatives, and grow our church body.   This position is estimated at 20 – 25 hours per week, with the opportunity to transition to full time as the church grows.  Start date is April 6, 2026 upon the retirement of our current pastor.

Qualifications

• The man must meet the requirements of I Timothy 3:1-7 and I Peter 5:1-4

• Deep understanding and passion for the faith
• Models the love of Christ in all interactions
• Ordained or able and willing to be ordained
• Experience working for a church in a pastoral capacity
• Successfully pass a background check
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in theology or ministry

Duties – the pastor and deacons will prioritize activities to maximize effectiveness

• Plan and lead the Sunday morning worship service
• Plan and lead weekly Bible studies and prayer meeting
• Backfill the pulpit when absent
• Perform baptisms, weddings, and funerals
• Administer communion
• Counseling as needed
• Spiritual growth coaching as needed
• Attend monthly Deacon’s meeting
• Provide a monthly written activity summary to the Deacons (one page, bullet points)
• Community outreach
• Grow church membership
• Sick & shut in visitation
• Minister to older adults
• Develop a children’s & youth ministry
• Coordinate activities with other area churches
• Other ministries as opportunities arise
